At the festival, Sara Parkman collaborates with several of our festival artists in a unique concert.
Sara Parkman is the folk musician who has questioned and embraced tradition so unabashedly and thoughtfully that she has created her own musical universe - and in doing so, has become the poster child of contemporary Swedish folk music. After three acclaimed solo albums, it's now just as natural to hear her music pulsating through the fog in the summer night forest as it is to see her perform it live on popular TV programs.
Over the years, Sara Parkman has been awarded several prizes at the Folk and World Music Gala, been awarded the Dagens Nyheter Culture Prize and - as at the Manifesto Gala earlier this year - been named the best live act of the year. When her latest album Eros Agape Philia was released in October, it was met with rave reviews. Nöjesguiden gave it its highest rating, writing: "It is folky, mystical, powerful and modern", and the album has been at the top of DN's album chart for no less than five weeks.
